So proud to see the AP Computer Science exam results yesterday.  33 out of 37 students passed the test (89% passing rate).  29 of those students that passed had a 4 or 5 on the exam.  Very impressive!  Congratulations to all students that took the exam.

AP Java, ICT Lesson 06

For this assignment, do the following:

  • Read the JavaDoc discussion found here (login required).
  • Test JavaDocs by creating docs for the PizzaParlor class.
  • Only do Lab Assignment 6.2 (RegularPolygon)
  • Create JavaDocs for your RegularPolygon class. This will require you to comment the class extensively.

Turn in RegularPolygon class with tester and sample runs. Turn in both JavaDocs folders you created. All of this should be put in a .ZIP file and uploaded.

NOTE:  There was a bug in the installer that I gave you to use at home.  The JavaDoc path was wrong.  To use JavaDocs at home, you will need to edit your PATH Environment Variable.  This is found at Start –> Settings –> Control Panel –> System –> Advanced –> Environment Variables.  Edit the path to include:

C:\Javastuff\jdk1.5.0_08\bin;

and remove the reference to jdk1.4.2 (or whatever) in the path.

AP Java Installer CDs Now Available

AP Java students only…

Over the weekend, I created installer CDs for each of you. These CDs install Textpad (unregistered shareware) and Java 5 on Windows 2000 or Windows XP Machines. Also, Karel Robot, Marine Biology Case Study, ICT APCS Library, Chn Utilities, Lejos, and ObjectDraw are installed. These are Java libraries that we will use throughout the year.

I make no guarantees regarding this software, use at your own risk. However, I have test installed it on XP and Windows 2000 machines, and it works fine. Also, if any problems result, you can use ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS to uninstall it.

See Mr. Eliot for a CDROM…
