I will be in Portland Oregon today for a reunion. Today, our guest teacher is Ms. Watkins. Please welcome her to our classroom.

MOBILE APP:
Your final project is due one week from today! The cabinet with your Galaxy Tab A tablets is currently unlocked. After the Guest Teacher takes roll, please use your tablet. Put your tablet back at the end of the period.

ANIMATION PROJECTS:
Your final project is due one week from today! Please continue to work on your final project!!

AP COMPUTER SCIENCE:
Please continue to work on the Finch Robot assignment. I will be available to check your work on Monday, so if you finish StraightEdgeRaveFinch, then continue on to MotorFinchGUI!
5th period: The cabinets are open to access the Finch Robots. Once you are done with your Finches, please place them on the top of the cart by the whiteboard so that 6th period can access them easily.
6th period: The Finches should be on the top of the cart by the whiteboard. Once you are done, please place your Finches INSIDE THE CABINET. Don’t worry about the numerical order, just stack them in a 4×4 2D Array similar to this photo:

TOMORROW SEMESTER FINAL:
A reminder that you Semester Final worth 20% of your grade starts tomorrow. Tomorrow you will have 50 questions in 45 minutes. Thursday will be the same 50 questions in 45 minutes. All 100 questions will be 80-90% second semester material, and 10-20% first semester material. About half of the questions will have short bits of code and about half of the questions will be regarding Java vocabulary, definitions, and keywords.

Some major topics include: ArrayList, , Wrapper classes, Arrays (1D, 2D), Quadratic sorts, Recursive sorts, Binary Search, Order Of Algorithm, DeMorgan’s Theorem, Interfaces, Inheritance, Polymorphism, Encapsulation, Abstract Classes, Binary/Octal/Hexadecimal numbering. Some first semester topics include: Naming variables/identifiers, Primitive data types, String Class, Object References, Math.random(), equals(), and compareTo() methods. A reminder that you are allowed a single notes sheet. You must use the sheet I provided, not just any sheet of paper.

Extra final exam notes sheets are on the bottom of the cart near the whiteboard.

AP COMP EXAM PREP SURVEY

Hello 5th and 6th period students. I am sorry that I am gone yet again today. I am at a district training for Canvas LMS software. The good news (for me at least) is that I hope NOT to be gone again until after the AP test. This is on the website, but here’s a quick review of the next 3 days in class:

Wednesday (today): On Friday you will have your LAST quiz for this class (see Friday for details!). I would strongly recommend you use your time today to look over FRQ questions on the Litvin website HERE, and on the official AP exam page HERE.

Thursday: We will review the Multiple Choice Answers. I have already graded the Multiple choice. The highest score was 20 out of 22, but that score will be well above the scale. Most likely, I will impose a limit on the scores above the eventual scale, so the people with 20,19,18 will probably be limited. More on the scale tomorrow 🙂

Friday: Four FRQ methods to write in 55 minutes. These FRQ methods can be from any area, and any topic. So this time, there will be no hints as to the area, to be more like the actual exam. Focus on questions that we haven’t already used on past quizzes and past review sessions. Each period will have different methods to write. We will go over the FRQ questions on Monday, May 6th.
